banner project

The 2009 Banner Project was an exciting, unprecedented public arts event in Georgetown, Texas, sponsored by Georgetown Art Works. Beginning October 1 and going into November, peer-selected art works from fifty-five unique artists were displayed on light post banners around the Georgetown Square and the Georgetown Public Library. The public was invited to vote for their favorite during October. Ballots and maps were available at the Visitors Center, the Williamson County Museum, and the library, where three uniquely painted, handcrafted ballot mailboxes were located.

art in the park

May 31st and June 1st, 2008
San Gabriel Park, Georgetown, Texas

An all-new Art in the Park show, in Georgetown’s beautiful San Gabriel park, for the first time in Georgetown directed by Lynette Wallace. Ms. Wallace hosted a juried show featuring a large contingent of the nation's finest artist-exhibitors, with scrumptious food from a range of vendors and fine wines to savor.

After 6pm, admission was free for everyone to attend a performance by the Temple Symphony Orchestra of some of the most beloved works of our keynote composer, Felix Mendelssohn, in the Gazebo.

This was the first of many concerts in Ellsworth Peterson’s fourth series of music festivals, this year entitled Mendelssohn in Georgetown
